Hyland lowers Irish record in Belgium

Tallaght’s Brendan Hyland had a great day in the pool on the second day of competition at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp.
In the morning heats, Hyland set a new Irish record in the 200m butterfly, clocking a time of 2:01.75.
The 17-year-old then went on to lower that mark in the afternoon semi-finals, clocking 2:00.67 and finishing in fifth place to make Friday evening’s final.
