Irish swimmers in Paralympic action
Sunday, 18 October 2009 16:13The European Paralympic Championships began in Iceland on Sunday where there is a six-person Irish team in action.
In early action this morning, Dublin's Ellen Keane set a new personal best of 1.16.95 to finish in seventh place overall taking 0.15 of a second off her previous personal best of 1.17.10.
The teenage swimmer from Clontarf progresses to the final, which takes place this evening.
Beijing silver medallist Darragh McDonald from Wexford also begins his European Championship campaign this evening in the 400m freestyle event.
