Bree fails in Olympic bid
Updated: Thursday, 14 Jun 2007 17:09
European short course silver medallist Andrew Bree has failed in his latest attempt to qualify for the Athens Olympics. At a meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, Bree won the 200 metres breaststroke but his time of 2:14.67 was almost half a second outside the Olympic 'A' qualifying standard that would guarantee him selection.
He will make a final bid in that event at the Scottish Nationals in Glasgow on Thursday afternoon. He also missed out on the 100 breaststroke qualifying time. Again he won the race but his time was 0.82 seconds outside the 'A' standard.
