Maradona led Argentina to World Cup glory in Mexico in 1986 with a series of memorable individual performances, as well as the 'goal of the century' in the quarter-final against England. Widely regarded as one of the best exponents of the game, he retired from football in 1997 having won trophies in Argentina, Spain and Italy.
