Norwegian midfielder Stefan Johansen expects to complete his move to Celtic on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old has undergone a medical and held talks at Celtic Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Johansen, who was part of the Stromsgodset side which won the Norwegian league last year, told STV: "I have taken the medical. Maybe tomorrow it's all going to be figured out."
Johansen revealed he had spoken to his compatriot, former Celtic defender Thomas Rogne, about his imminent switch to Glasgow.
"I talked a little bit with Thomas because I played in the (Norway) U-21s with him.
"I have heard from the national (team) guys that it's a fantastic city and the Celtic fans are unbelievable.
"I hope it's going to work out and I'm looking forward to it."
Celtic have loaned 19-year-old midfielder Paul George to Championship title challengers Hamilton until the end of the season.
The attacking midfielder made his Celtic first-team debut in a League Cup win at Ross County in September 2011 but a double leg break hindered his progress and that remains his only competitive appearance.
