Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has signed a new three-year contract.
Stokes has been a key player for Celtic after returning from a lengthy injury lay-off towards the end of last season and contract negotiations have been protracted.
But the club announced on their official Twitter feed on Tuesday afternoon: "Celtic are delighted to announce that Anthony Stokes has today signed a new three-year contract with the club."
Stokes's deal with the Hoops was due to expire at the end of the current season, and his new contract will keep him at Parkhead until the summer of 2017.
Five goals in 16 appearances for Celtic this season, and some mighty impressive performances have clearly earned the striker the respect of the Celtic boardroom.
He has played in all three of Celtic's Champions League group matches this season, having forced his way back into the side. Last season he failed to start any of Celtic's Champions League ties as they reached the last 16 of the competition.
