William Hill Scottish Cup winners Hearts have continued their cost-cutting policy by announcing the departure of strikers Stephen Elliott and Gary Glen.

The club announced the pair had been informed they would not be offered new deals when their contracts expire in the coming weeks.

Elliott started Saturday's 5-1 Hampden success over Hibernian and has been a regular since arriving from Preston.

In an article on the club's official website, the Irishman said: "I have had a great couple of years here and to go out in that manner was just amazing.

"I'm leaving with a Scottish Cup winner's medal so I would have to say my time here has been a success."

Glenn added: "It was great to go out on such a high and I'd like to wish the lads the best of luck for next season.

"I'd like to thank the fans for their support during my time at the club and I'm now looking forward to taking the next step in my career."
