Raheny United have qualified for the knockout stages of the UEFA Women's Champions League after claiming a 2-1 victory over Hibernians of Malta in the final game of their qualifying group.

Goals from Catherine Cronin and Claire Shine saw Raheny top their group and ensure their place in the draw for the knock out stages which takes place on Friday 22 August.

Possible opponents for the two-legged tie include Liverpool FC, Paris Saint-Germain, FFC Frankfurt, Olympique Lyonnais and reigning champions Vfl Wolfsburg.

Manager Casey McQuillan insisted that her side are looking to continue their progress in the Champions League and aren't just content with making it to the knockout stages.

"The work has just begun – we will go home, enjoy the achievement and look forward to the draw for the knockout stages. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved for Raheny United and ladies soccer in Ireland," McQuillan said.
