Drogheda United and first team manager Robbie Horgan have agreed to part company with immediate effect.
Drogheda started the season well under Horgan, however, the team’s recent form resulted in the board taking action on Monday night.
Horgan took over from Mick Cooke at United Park in November 2013.
Horgan said of the decision: “Through mutual agreement but with a very heavy heart l have parted ways with Drogheda United.
"I would like to thank everybody at the club for their support and hard work not just this season but over the last three seasons and also during my time here as a player.
"I have had the privilege to play, coach, be assistant manager and manager of this club with notable success along the way.
"Anyone that knows me, knows how much l love Drogheda United and l managed it with passion and pride. Unfortunately, this passion and pride was not being reflected on the pitch with the inevitable outcome."
A club statement read: “Robbie is one of the most committed and hardest working people in the business and everyone in the club thanks him for his long-standing commitment to Drogheda United and wishes him well for the future.
“He and his family have been very much a part of the Drogheda United community over the years and it is a privilege knowing them.”
