Shamrock Rovers will face Liverpool in a friendly at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Wednesday, 14 May.

The match will kick-off at 5.30pm and will come just three days after Liverpool’s final match of the Premier League season against Newcastle at Anfield. Shamrock Rovers are currently scheduled to play Athlone Town on 16 May.

Liverpool have pledged to send a first-team squad but no players set to feature in this summer's World Cup will be involved.

They last faced Rovers, from whom they signed full-back Jim Beglin in 1983, 32 years ago in an encounter that ended in a 1-1 draw at Milltown.

General admission tickets go on sale on Friday, 28 March at 10am.

Tickets, priced at €15 for children and starting from €20 for adults.
