Derry City have parted company with manager Declan Devine, the club announced this evening.

Devine led the Candystripes to victory in the 2012 FAI Ford Cup final and also to a fourth-place finish in this year’s Airtricity League Premier Division, which may be enough to secure a Europa League spot if Sligo Rovers beat Drogheda United in the final.

Devine took over the position from Stephen Kenny in January of last year.

A statement on the Derry website read: “Derry City FC Board of Directors wish to announce that Declan Devine has parted company with the club by mutual consent.

“The club wish Declan well for the future and thank him for his contribution over the years.”
