Champions Raheny United maintained their flawless start to the new Bus Éireann Women’s National League campaign with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Peamount United at Greenogue today.
Ireland U19 star Clare Shine proved to be the difference between the sides as her first half double gave Terry Eviston's side control of the game.
Shine opened the scoring in the 10th minute and she added her second goal in the 23rd to put the visitors in a commanding position.
Peamount battled hard to get back in the tie but the three points were confirmed when Siobhan Killeen scored an impressive third goal for Raheny in the 78th minute.
DLR Waves were another side to secure an away victory when they ran out 2-0 winners in Cork.
Former Cork player Sylvia Gee gave DLR a third minute lead and then her free-kick deflected off Natalie O'Brien for an unfortunate own goal to seal the win.
Galway maintained their solid start to their inaugural season with a 4-0 away win against Shamrock Rovers - who had goalkeeper Michelle Watson sent off midway through the second half.
Sinead Taylor was the standout player for the Galwegians with a hat-trick but her side were sent on their way in the 40th minute when Grainne Barrett curled home a brilliant free-kick.
Taylor bagged her first goal on the stroke of half-time when she smashed home from close range and she made it 3-0 from the penalty spot. She added the third against stand-in keeper Aisling Cusak in the 70th minute.
In the day's other game Castlebar Celtic held Wexford Youths to a 1-1 draw at Ferrycarrig Park.
The Mayo side took the lead through Rachel Kearns in the 18th minute and U19 international Ciara Rossiter levelled for the home side in the 67th minute.
