The 2013 EA SPORTS Cup Final between Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United will take place at Tallaght Stadium at 6pm on Saturday, 21 September, the FAI has confirmed.

The final is a repeat of the 2012 decider at the same venue which Drogheda United won 3-1.

The sides also met earlier this season in the Setanta Sports Cup Final with Shamrock Rovers winning 7-1 on that occasion.

"We have already won one cup competition this season and we now want to win another final" - Trevor Croly

Both managers are looking forward to the game and the opportunity to battle it out for another trophy.

Drogheda United manager Mick Cooke said: “It’s the third final in 12 months between us. We have won one, they have won one and this is the test match decider.

"We are really looking forward it and I know we will do a lot better than the last time we met them in May.

We are all looking forward to a great day out because it is another big occasion for the club.”

Shamrock Rovers manager Trevor Croly said: “It’s great for us to be in another cup final and we are really looking forward to it.

"It’s going to be a great game and a great occasion. We have already won one cup competition this season and we now want to win another final.”

Drogheda United and Shamrock Rovers qualification for the final means that their Airtricity League Premier Division games, against Cork City and Limerick respectively, which were scheduled for that weekend, have been switched to Tuesday, 24 September, at 7.45pm.

The match will be televised live on Setanta Sports.
