The FAI has confirmed that it will bid to host games in the 2020 European Championship finals.

The expanded 24-team tournament is due to be held across a number of cities on the continent.

At the organisation’s AGM in Wicklow, CEO John Delaney said that they are up to date with all repayment obligations and that it will be debt-free by 2020.

The deficit currently stands at €63 million mainly due to its share of the cost of the Aviva Stadium at Lansdowne Road in Dublin.
