Dundalk have added another name to their ranks for 2013 with former St Patrick’s Athletic striker Vinny Faherty joining up at Oriel Park.

Faherty has signed a one-year-deal with the Lilywhites.

The 25-year-old said: "I’m excited and really looking forward to the new season.

"I was training in Galway and Stephen got in touch with me. Dundalk were heading down for a training weekend in Wexford and I was invited along. I got a feel for the squad and the coaching and I was very impressed.

"There is a really good bunch of lads at Dundalk this season.

"There is a good mixture of young players and experience. Obviously, it will be great to work with such an experienced manager as Stephen Kenny."

Kenny has added John Dillon (Sligo Rovers), Mark Rossiter (St Patrick’s Athletic) and Stephen O’Donnell (Shamrock Rovers) amongst others to his squad for this season.
