Bohemians have signed former Shelbourne goalkeeper Dean Delany as manager Aaron Callaghan strengthens his squad ahead of the new Airtricity League campaign.

The Gypsies will be looking to build on the 2012 season, which saw the cash-strapped club finish comfortably in mid-table despite operating on a much reduced budget.

Callaghan has also signed striker Darragh Hanaphy from Newry City and former UCD forward Chris Lyons.

Midfielders Niall Forrester, previously with Shamrock Rovers Under-19s and son of former assistant manager Liam O’Brien, Conor O’Brien who has returned to Ireland after a period in the United States.

Dave Mulcahy, Kevin Devaney and Karl Moore have all re-signed for the Dalymount Park side, while assistant manager Owen Heary has also re-signed as a player.

Bohemians have now signed 20 players ahead of the new season in March, where Callaghan’s side take on UCD in the opening game on 8 March.

Squad members announced earlier this month were: Ryan McEvoy, Derek Pender, Luke Byrne, Keith Buckley, Greg Murray, Michael Barker, Dave Scully, Roberto Lopes, Stephen Traynor, Andy Mulligan and John O’Connor, all re-signed from 2012, along with former UCD left back Ciaran Nangle.
