Bohemians made light work of Drumkeen United at Dalymount with goals from Roberto Lopez, David Mulcahy and a hat-trick from David Scully sending the Gypsies into round three on a 5-0 scoreline.

UCD had a 3-1 win over Phoenix FC at the Belfield Bowl. Paul O’Conor put the Students ahead before a Keith Dawson penalty levelled the game. Late goals from Daniel Ledwith and Graham Rusk sent Martin Russell’s team into round three.

Cork City ran out easy winners against Athlone Town at Turner’s Cross. Val Feeney had put the visitors in front but hat-tricks from Vincent Sullivan and Tadgh Purcell took Cork into the next round.

Mervue United claimed the honours in the Galway derby with a 2-0 win away to SD Galway, Patrick Hoban and Etanda Nikololo with two second-half goals.

And Malahide are also through after beating Blarney United 4-1. Alan O’Keefe, Glen Crowe, Alan Corcoran and Stephen Donnelly were on target for Malahide and Richard O’Brien’s equaliser proved only a consolation in the end.
