New Glentoran signing Keith Gillespie hopes to extend his Northern Ireland career beyond 86 caps after moving to the Oval.

The 34-year-old winger has returned to the province following a short-term deal with Bradford last season.

Gillespie has been out of the international picture this year but is keen to catch manager Nigel Worthington's eye again.

He told the BBC: 'Nigel has been picking Irish League players lately. I'm hoping (to get a recall) but it's out of my hands.

'First and foremost, I want to do well for Glentoran. If international honours come my way, then so be it.'

The deal was sealed when one of Glentoran's main sponsors made the cash available to pay Gillespie's wages.
