Nine-man Glentoran held on to book a place in the Setanta Cup final at the expense of holders Drogheda, who face going into examinership on Tuesday.
The Irish League side hit the front after only three minutes when Jason Hill’s shot rolled into the net through the legs of netminder Jamie Ewings.
Drogheda piled on the pressure in the second half and won a penalty when a foul on Declan O’Brien resulted in Glens captain Paul Leeman being sent-off, but Paul Keegan fired the spot-kick off the bar.
Hill then got his marching orders on 89 for a second bookable offence, but still the Boynesiders could not find a way through.
