Roddy Collins has completed the signing of former England international Carlton Palmer for eircom Division One side Dublin City.

Palmer, who is 39 years of age, will go straight into the Vikings' starting line-up for their meeting with Drogheda United at United Park tomorrow night.

Palmer has played with a number of clubs including West Brom, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United, Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Coventry City and Watford.

He also had a period as manager of Stockport.
