Substitute Dave Scully scored twice in injury-time to give ten-man Bohemians a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw with UCD at Belfield.

Scully brought Bohs back into contention with a crisp strike from the edge of the box on 90 minutes.

With UCD clinging on, Scully nipped in at the back post to head the equaliser in the fourth minute of added-time.

Bohs' Kevin Feely was sent-off on five minutes for fouling Daniel Ledwith, who opened the scoring from the resulting free-kick. Paul O'Conor's deflected shot doubled the lead on 22 minutes.

The consolation for UCD is that the point almost guarantees their Premier Division status for next term.

However, Martin Russell will be fuming that his side threw away a two-goal lead so late in the game.

It had been the worst possible start for Bohs as they were a goal down and a man down inside five minutes.

Feely stumbled as he tried to deal with a long ball and he tripped Ledwith on the edge of the area. Referee Sean Grant did not hesitate in producing a red card.

The defender had barely trudged off the pitch when Ledwith picked himself up and curled in the free-kick.

The double early setback forced Bohs to reorganise and they switched to a flat back four with Evan McMillan and Michael Barker dropping back.

UCD dominated possession with the extra man but they were fortunate to go two ahead. O'Conor's speculative long-range shot took a massive deflection and spun past Greg Murray.

The home side coasted through to the break and could have been further ahead if Hugh Douglas has converted when the ball dropped to him three yards from goal.

UCD started the second half where they left off in the first as they pressed for a third goal to wrap up the victory.

At the other end, chances were limited for Bohemians and substitute Derek Pender was left with his head in his hands after he headed over from four yards.

Dave Mulcahy did well to get on the end of good team move but his shot slipped wide of the far post.

It looked like UCD would extended their recent unbeaten run until Scully's late, late intervention.
