Sligo Rovers have signed Seamus Conneely and Jeff Henderson until the end of the 2013 Airtricity Premier Division season.

They join former Derby County winger Ryan Connolly at the league leaders, making it three signings in the first three days of the transfer window for the Bit o’ Red.

Conneely joins after leaving Sheffield United where he spent 18 months at the English League 1 club.

The right-back, who turns 24 next week, has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 and Under-23 level.

Henderson signs for Rovers from Newcastle United where he spent seven years in their youth set-up and as captain of their reserve team.

The 20-year-old featured in the Newcastle first team squad and also had a spell on loan at Gateshead.
