Sligo Rovers have signed Haiti international Pascal Millien along with three other new signings ahead of the new Airtricity League season.
Millien was on trial over the last two weeks during the club's pre-season and scored in last week’s friendly win against Athlone Town.
The former Tampa Bay winger used to play alongside former Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Ryan Thompson at University of Tampa in Florida and expressed his delight at signing a contract at The Showgrounds.
Millien said: “It’s a blessing. It is just great. It’s great to be blessed and sign for Sligo Rovers.
“This has been a long journey but it has been a special journey and I am just so happy now. All the hard work paid off. I just want to prove to the people what I can do.
“I like the football here. I like the players that I play with. They play the game I love to play - they pass and move the ball and I can't wait to go play my first game.”
David Cawley has also signed for the Bit o’ Red after leaving English Championship side Ipswich Town.
Ballina native Cawley has signed a one-year deal having impressed on trial in recent weeks.
Cawley said: “It is brilliant. I have been here for a month training and I’m delighted to sign. It is a relief to get it sorted and I just can’t wait for the first game of the season. I came back from England last year and I’ve wanted to kick on with a club in Ireland.
“I know all about Sligo Rovers, I’ve seen the success the club has had with the FAI Cups. I was keeping an eye out even when I was Ipswich because it was a fantastic achievement and I just want to help drive it on.”
Liam Martin and Colm McLoughlin, members of the club’s scholarship initiative, have signed their first professional contracts with the club.
The duo have penned two-year-deals to continue their development with Sligo Rovers.
