Dundalk boss Seán McCaffrey has added four players to his squad ahead of the 2012 Airtricity League season.

Gary Shanahan, Chris Shields and Shane O'Neill have all signed with the Oriel Park club, while Nathan Murphy has re-signed for a fifth season.

The Lilywhites have now made six signings for the new season, which starts on 2 March, as Mark Griffin and Stephen McDonnell have also recently signed.

McCaffrey insists that he is "not in a panic" to sign players and commented that it's "important that we sign players we want", after he adding Shields, O'Neill and Murphy to his squad.

Shanahan is an 18-year-old striker, while Shields and O’Neill both played for Bray Wanderers last season.

Elsewhere, Cork City have signed 28-year-old midfielder Clark Keltie ahead of the new season.

Davin O'Neill has also committed to another season at Turner's Cross.

City boss Tommy Dunne said: “Davin had a very good season last season, probably one of the better seasons that he has had in his career. He is at a really good age, he has experience and we’re hoping that the best is yet to come from him.

“He can play in a number of positions, so he is a good addition to the team and I am very glad that he has signed back. As a club, we did well last year, but we are looking to push on again this year, and Davin will be an integral part of that.”
