UCD 4-3 Villarreal

UCD shocked Spanish giant Villarreal in a friendly on Saturday, knicking a seven-goal thriller at the UCD Bowl.

Villarreal fielded a strong line-up including Joan Capdevila and Borja Valero while also using Marcos Senna and Nilmar from the substitiutes bench.

But strikes from Paul O’Conor, Michael Leahy, Tomas Boyle and a late own goal helped the Students, strugglers in the Premier Division, to a famous win.

Borja, Marco Ruben and Santi Canzorla were on target for away side who are on a pre-season tour ahead of the Spanish season.
