Waterford add Wexford pair to books

Airtricity League First Division side Waterford United have completed the signing of Shane Dempsey and Lee Chin.

The young Wexford pair, who both featured in the 3-0 friendly victory over Bandon AFC at the weekend, were signed to further strengthen the squad for the 2011 season.

Dempsey, a 21-year-old midfielder joins from North End United, while Chin signs from Wexford Bohs. The 20-year-old is a versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back.

The signings bring the senior squad size to 20 players.

Elsewhere, United's friendly against Sporting Fingal, scheduled for the RSC on 26 February, has been cancelled. Instead the Blues will make their first appearance at Tallaght Stadium a night earlier, when they take on Shamrock Rovers on Friday 25 February.
