A Karl Bermingham hat-trick helped Monaghan United storm from behind to record an emphatic 6-1 victory at Kingspan Century Park over First Division basement side Kildare County.
After a drab first half, County went ahead through a fine Philly Hughes individual goal on 50 minutes.
Three predatory finishes from Bermingham within eight minutes (59, 64, 66) set United up for a memorable comeback, with David Freeman contributing a brace (76, 82) from close range as Kildare’s resistance crumbled.
Cathal O’Connor completed the punishment in the 86th minute.
