Longford Town 0-3 Sporting Fingal

Sporting Fingal made ground on the three teams ahead of them at the top of the First Division, proving much too good for Longford at Flancare Park.
The misery continues for Longford manager Aaron Callaghan. Despite introducing three new signings for this clash, his side failed to direct even one shot on target over the entire 90 minutes.
Fingal had the first real chance of the game in the 22nd minute. Fiachra McArdle’s quick free kick left Robbie Doyle in the clear but the striker screwed his effort badly off target.
The visitors again went close in the 35th minute when a rasping shot from Conan Byrne whizzed past Neil Gallagher’s post.
The Dublin side hit the front in the 53rd minute. Jim Crawford picked out Robbie Doyle on the edge of the penalty area and the striker’s neat flick allowed Conan Byrne to fire the ball past Gallagher.
Doyle should have extended the Fingal lead just moments later but he dragged his effort well right of the post.
Fingal wrapped up the points in the 82nd minute when Fiachra McArdle slotted home their second goal while substitute Daniel Corcoran added a third just three minutes from the end.
