Cobh Ramblers 2-0 Shamrock Rovers

Cobh Ramblers recorded their first league win of the season and their first in the Premier Division since 1995 with this win at St Colman’s Park.
Both goals came in the second half, the first coming after 62 minutes when Kieran O'Reilly flicked home a cross from John Meade.
Ramblers clinched the win when an Alan Kearney free-kick was headed on by Graham Cummins for Kevin Murray to head home his third goal of the campaign.
Rovers came into the game on the back of their first defeat of the season the previous week against great rivals Bohemians, but had ten points from five games and were in fourth position in the table.
Ramblers were second from bottom, with just two points from their two home draws, having suffered three away defeats, including the previous week’s defeat in Sligo.
After a scoreless first half, the tempo of the game improved after the break and just after the hour the hosts took the lead.
Ramblers full-back John Meade made space down the left before sending in a fine cross for a brave O'Reilly to touch the ball home from six yards past goalkeeper Barry Murphy.
The goalscorer and Graham Cummins both went close, Murphy saving from O'Reilly and Cummins shooting wide from a good position.
Cobh scored a fine second goal when centre-back Murray headed past Murphy from eight yards to make him his side’s top scorer.
Rovers made changes and pushed on for a goal, but Ramblers goalkeeper James McCarthy denied Sean O'Connor when he dived full length to touch away the winger's 20-yard shot.
This was Rovers second defeat in eight days, but the win moves Cobh out of the bottom three.
