Roy Keane was on the training pitch with the Republic of Ireland this morning after holding talks with Celtic.

The 42-year-old, assistant to manager Martin O'Neill, arrived at Gannon Park in Malahide long before the players as usual to prepare for the session.

He did so under intense media scrutiny after O'Neill had confirmed he had held informal talks over the vacant manager's job at Parkhead.

O'Neill has since revealed their had been no fresh developments overnight. "No, nothing else. There's nothing else to tell you."

He added with a smile: "There wasn't anything really going to happen in the hour and a half since I last saw you, so nothing has happened.

"I don't think anything is going to happen anyway until the weekend."

O'Neill confirmed that Keane will fly to London with the rest of the party this afternoon, ahead of Saturday evening's friendly against Italy at Craven Cottage.
