The FAI have confirmed that the Republic of Ireland will play Serbia in Belgrade on Wednesday, 15 August, with a return fixture in the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, 5 March, 2014.

Serbia were the opposition for Giovanni Trapattoni’s first home game in charge of the Republic of Ireland in May 2008.

That game finished in a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Andy Keogh strike. The Serbs are currently ranked 32nd in the world.
