Stephen Hunt has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland's friendly with Colombia on Thursday in London.

Hunt was forced to sit out training today and a scan revealed that he aggravated a hamstring injury during Ireland’s 1-1 draw with Serbia on Saturday.

Richard Dunne was also forced to sit out training today with a bruised foot, but is expected to recover in time for Thursday’s clash at Craven Cottage.

Manager Giovanni Trapattoni said: 'The training session went very well. Hunt and Dunne did not train but I hope they will be okay for Thursday. Dunne's injury is a bruised foot but he has a 90% chance of being fit.

Trapattoni went on to hint that Aiden McGeady will start. 'I saw McGeady in training for the first time and he did really well. Maybe he will start the game on Thursday but he will play at some stage, as will John O'Shea,' he told the FAI's website.
