Sligo Rovers boss John Coleman is expecting a “tough game” against FK Banga in their Europa League qualifier on Thursday, but insists the Bit O’Red wouldn't be happy to settle for a draw.

“I know for a fact that the lads are rearing to go,” Coleman said. “We are coming to try and win the game.

“We’ve made a statement that every game we play this season we’re going to try to win. And this game is no different.”

Coleman said he wanted Sligo to play the game “on the front foot”.

He described the game as a “big opportunity” for Sligo to make progress in Europe, but that he did not want to treat the game merely as an adventure.

Sligo travelled to Lithuania without Joseph Ndo, Kalen Spillane, Gavin Peers and Jeff Henderson for the game, which begins at 4pm Irish time.

Elsewhere, Derry City will entertain Welsh outfit Aberystwyth Town at the Brandywell later on Thursday evening.

Derry boss Peter Hutton reported a clean bill of health for his squad for the game.
