Wesley Sneijder has completed his move to Galatasaray from Inter Milan.

The Holland international completed his medical with the Turkish giants earlier today before signing his contract at a ceremony at the club's Turk Telekom Arena this afternoon.

The 28-year-old, whose transfer fee from Inter is believed to be in the region of €10million (£8.4million), has penned a reported three-and-a-half-year deal with the Super Lig leaders.

Sneijder's move ends a three-and-a-half-year spell at Inter during which he won a famous Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia treble in 2010 under Jose Mourinho.

The playmaker, who joined Inter from Real Madrid for 15million euros in 2009, had not featured for the Nerazzurri since a 2-0 victory at Chievo in September after publicly refusing to take a two million euro pay cut on a contract that ran until June 2015.

Inter head coach Andrea Stramaccioni maintained the playmaker's absence from the first team was solely a tactical decision, despite Inter's clear difficulty in keeping pace with league leaders Juventus through an injury crisis.

Sneijder has revealed that he sought advice from Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal before finally deciding to join Galatasaray.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a hero's welcome when he flew into Istanbul yesterday to seal his €10m move from Inter Milan.

Speaking before undergoing a medical which would rubber-stamp his move to Turkey, Sneijder revealed he had spoken to both his former boss at Inter, Mourinho, and Van Gaal, the Holland coach.

He told De Telegraaf: "I've been very well briefed on all sides, very well briefed.

"I called Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal because they have been key figures in my football career and I think their opinion is important.

"They both said the same thing: do! They gave me the final push, knowing how Turkish football is on the rise."

Sneijder also admits one of the reasons behind his move to Gala was next year's World Cup in Brazil.

He said: "This is all important in view of the World Cup."
