Ireland goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has joined Sheffield Wednesday from Sunderland.

He has agreed a two-year deal with the Championship side.

Westwood has clocked almost 300 senior appearances during his career so far, playing in the English leagues and with Ireland on the international stage.

Westwood began his career at Manchester City, before switching to Carlisle United, and then to Coventry City where he was named in the 2008/09 PFA Championship Team of the Year.

In 2011, Westwood moved to Sunderland, where he was Simon Mignolet's deputy.
