Ferguson to avoid January sales

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has indicated he will not be bringing in any new players to Old Trafford when the transfer window re-opens in January.
‘I think the squad is good enough,’ Ferguson told the Premier League champions' official magazine 'Inside United'.
‘We don't always get great joy in January, I have to say.’
Ferguson, now in his 21st year as United manager, has tended to let the January transfer window come and go although, in 2006, the Scot did bring Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic to the club in the New Year sales before announcing striker Henrik Larsson's arrival on a short-term deal.
‘It takes time for players to settle in when they are midway through the season - look at what happened with Evra and Vidic when they arrived - so we are conscious of that. I think the squad is good enough,’ Ferguson said.
‘Maybe we are short of cover in the left-back area now Gabriel Heinze has left but other than that, we are okay,’ he added.
United, fourth in the table and six points behind leaders Arsenal, are at home to Fulham in the Premier League on Monday and a win would see come jump to second place.
