Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher faces a spell on the sidelines after scans confirmed he broke a rib in his side's win at Sunderland.
Carragher also developed a collapsed lung as a result of the collision with Jose Reina during Saturday's 2-0 win and is likely to miss Tuesday's Champions League qualifier against Toulouse.
Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: ‘Jamie underwent a series of investigations on Sunday morning which confirmed he has a broken rib and has also developed a pneumothorax’.
Carrgaher's defensive partner Sami Hyypia, who broke his nose at the Stadium of Light, trained on Sunday and is expected to be fit to face Toulouse.
