Blackburn will monitor the fitness of Robbie Savage and David Bentley ahead of the derby against Bolton on Sunday at Ewood Park.
Savage took a bang on his back during the UEFA Cup victory against Wisla Krakow in Poland last night while Bentley has complained of a tight hamstring.
Blackburn will again be without Steven Reid, who faces a four-month absence because of a stress fracture in his back, and Ryan Nelsen (hamstring).
Meanwhile, Bolton manager Sam Allardyce looks set to name an unchanged line-up as his side chase a fourth straight win in the Premiership.
After his decisive two-goal strike at Newcastle last weekend, El-Hadji Diouf looks set to start on the left side of a three-pronged attack, with Kevin Davies on the right and Nicolas Anelka in the centre.
Long-term injury casualties Ricardo Gardner, Henrik Pedersen and Joey O'Brien are progressing but still not ready to make a comeback.
Provisional Blackburn squad: Friedel, Neill, Khizanishvili, Tugay, Emerton, Savage, Bentley, Nonda, McCarthy, Pedersen, Mokoena, Jeffers, Gallagher, Ooijer, Brown, Gray, Peter, McEveley, Roberts.
Provisional Bolton squad: Jaaskelainen, Hunt, Meite, Faye, Ben Haim, Fortune, Giannakopoulos, Campo, Speed, Nolan, Diouf, Davies, Anelka, Walker, Vaz Te, Tal.
