Newcastle United defender Stephen Carr has launched a claim for wrongful dismissal after being sent off for violent conduct in yesterday's 1-0 win over Chelsea.
The Irishman was dismissed by Mike Riley for allegedly stamping on Lassana Diarra in the final Premier League match of the season.
Carr, who recently came out of international retirement for the Republic of Ireland, has appealed Riley's decision and his claim will be heard by a Football Association disciplinary commission tomorrow.
