Norwich tonight completed the signing of Crewe striker Dean Ashton for a club record £3million fee.
The total cost could rise by a further £500,000 and there is also an additional 20% sell-on fee.
The England Under-21 forward signed a three-and-a-half year deal, with a further one-year option, at Carrow Road tonight after completing the formality of a medical.
Norwich boss Nigel Worthington said: "I'm delighted that we've been able to attract such a young talent to Carrow Road. Dean is currently one of the best young strikers in the country and has scored goals for Crewe on a consistent basis."
