Steve Bruce may give Charles N'Zogbia his Wigan debut against Fulham

Midfielder Charles N'Zogbia is in line for his Wigan debut against Fulham at the JJB Stadium.

The Frenchman completed a £6million move from Newcastle on transfer deadline day and is likely to fill the wide left role which belonged to Ryan Taylor, who moved in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

Winger Antonio Valencia is closer to a recall after a hamstring problem while Amr Zaki is expected to start after recovering from the knee injury which kept him out of last weekend's goalless draw at Aston Villa.

Fulham defender Chris Baird has tonsillitis and is ruled out of the trip to Wigan.

Striker Diomansy Kamara (knee) has caught the eye in training but is short of match-fitness.

Late decisions will be made on whether new signings Olivier Dacourt and Giles Barnes are ready for their debuts.

Wigan squad: Kirkland, Melchiot, Scharner, Bramble, Figueroa, Cattermole, N'Zogbia, Valencia, Kapo, De Ridder, Zaki, Mido, Kingson, Pollitt, Edman, Brown, Boyce, Rodallega.

Fulham squad: Schwarzer, Konchesky, Pantsil, Hangeland, Johnson, Zamora, Nevland, Gera, Murphy, Kamara, Gray, Hughes, Zuberbuhler, Etuhu, Stoor, Dempsey, Davies, Milsom, Brown, Kallio, Barnes, Dacourt.
