Arsenal hope to have defender Laurent Koscielny (back) available for Wednesday's's Champions League clash against Schalke, but midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain misses out (hip).

England defender Kieran Gibbs (thigh) and forward Theo Walcott (chest) remain sidelined, while midfielder Jack Wilshere will be rested completely after playing for the under-21s on Monday.

First-choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny (ankle) is still out, along with midfielder Abou Diaby (thigh), Czech winger Tomas Rosicky (hamstring) and defender Bacary Sagna (broken leg).

Provisional squad: Mannone, Santos, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Cazorla, Arteta, Ramsey, Gervinho, Podolski, Giroud, Martinez, Coquelin, Djourou, Koscielny, Arshavin, Chamakh, Frimpong, Gnabry.
