The draw for the first round of the Setanta Sports Cup has taken place in Belfast.

Cup holders Crusaders, beaten finalists Derry City, IFA Premiership champions Linfield and Airtricity League kingpins Sligo Rovers all received byes as seeded teams in the 12-club competition.

Airtricity League outfits Cork City, Shamrock Rovers St Patrick’s Athletic and Drogheda United will host their Northern Irish rivals in the first leg.

The first round games will take place in February, with the first legs on Monday, 11 February and the second legs one week later.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be made following the completion of the opening round.

The final has been scheduled for Saturday, 11 May.

Crusaders beat the Candystripes in a penalty shoot-out in the final of this year's competition after the encounter ended 2-2 after extra-time.

Cork City v Cliftonville

Shamrock Rovers v Coleraine

St Patrick's Athletic v Glentoran

Drogheda United v Portadown
