Sligo Rovers have announced the signing of midfielder Aaron Greene.

Greene rejoins Rovers after a year's absence, having scored six times in 37 appearances in his previous spell with the club in 2011..

Rovers manager Ian Baraclough said: "It is a pleasing signing and a great addition to the squad.

"Aaron brings a lot of quality and despite being only 22-years-old, he has considerable experience already and a determination to develop his career with Sligo Rovers.

"We are working diligently and patiently to build the squad with players that can improve us and Aaron’s capture is a big boost.”

Greene said: "It is fantastic to have to the opportunity to link up with the league champions and my former team-mates, it was something I jumped at and an easy decision for me to make.

"I look forward to contributing to the team's efforts next year. As well as my regard for the club, the professionalism and approach of Ian Baraclough was an important factor for me and I can’t wait to get down to work in the new season."

Sligo have 12 players under contract next season as they look to defend the Airtricity Premier Division title.
