Familiar names in King's U-21 squad
Wednesday, 28 July 2010 15:45New Republic of Ireland U-21 coach, Noel King has announced an 18 man squad to play Estonia in a European Championship qualifier on 10 August in Tallaght stadium.
Included in the squad are a number of senior fringe players such as James McCarthy, Anthony Stokes and Seamus Coleman, while Cillian Sheridan will transfer to the senior squad after the match. Under 19 stars, Aaron Doran, Conor Hourihane, Rob Kiernan and Joe Mason have been called into this age category for the first time.
Speaking about the squad, Noel King said: 'I am really looking forward to the qualifier against Estonia who will be a tough outfit to beat following some significant results in the campaign to date, most recently, their victory against second placed Turkey last May.'
'I am very satisfied with the quality of the players who I have been able to call-up to the squad for this important qualifying game as I think that it is of upmost importance for the players to get some positive results for the team before the end of this campaign.'
