Tallaght capacity will be not be increased

UEFA has denied a request from Shamrock Rovers to have the capacity of Tallaght Stadium increased for the Europa League qualifier with Juventus on Thursday.

The decision means that only 6,000 tickets will be available for the game and they are not likely to go on general sale.

A statement on the club website, www.shamrockrovers.ie, read: 'Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of Shamrock Rovers FC, the FAI and South Dublin County Council, the club did not receive a derogation from UEFA to install temporary seating at Tallaght Stadium for this Thursday's match against Juventus.

'This means that it is highly unlikely that there will be any general sale of match tickets as the 6,000 capacity is being allocated to club season ticket holders and members first.'
