Cork City future remains in doubt

Cork City's place in the League of Ireland Premier Division remains in doubt as the club failed to clear its debt before the licensing deadline passed.

City owner Tom Coughlan has promised not to stand in the way of any potential new investors at the club.

The players held a meeting yesterday to voice their anger at unpaid wages since last November and the manner in which the club has been run.

Cork City also say that the administration team is continuing the restructuring process already underway in a bid to ensure the financial stability of the club for the forthcoming season.
