City and United to meet in last four

Local rivals Manchester City and Manchester United will meet in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup after being drawn together in the last four.

City, who will host the first leg, earned their place in the draw with an eye-catching 3-0 win over Arsenal at the City of Manchester Stadium tonight.

Blackburn Rovers will face Aston Villa after Rovers' shock win over Chelsea at Ewood Park.

The first legs will be played during the week commencing 4 January, with the return clashes taking place two weeks later.
