Irish players on the move

Former Republic of Ireland under-21 full-back Alan Sheehan has joined Swindon from Leeds United until January.

Sheehan has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at Elland Road this season and it will be his third loan spell away from the club in the calendar year.

Elsewhere, Charlton have extended David Mooney's loan spell from Reading for a second month.

The 25-year-old former Cork City striker has scored twice in six appearances for the Addicks and will now stay on at The Valley until 28 December, although Reading do have a 24-hour recall clause.

Meanwhile, Oldham have completed the signing of Doncaster Rovers' Paul Heffernan on loan for a month.

Dubliner Heffernan, 27, has made 11 appearances this campaign mainly from the bench.
