Kildare County go into liquidation

Kildare County FC will not be able to fulfil the relegation/promotion play-off matches, originally scheduled for Tuesday and Friday of this week.

The club informed the Football Association of Ireland on Monday.

As a result Salthill Devon will have been deemed to have won promotion from the Newstalk A Championship into the League of Ireland First Division, pending the licencing process.

A statement on the club's website read: 'The Board of Management of Kildare County F.C. regrets to announce that the Club has played its last game.

'Since the resignation of former members earlier this season, the remaining personnel of the Board of Management have worked night and day to try and resolve the Club's problems.'

'The Club has examined all options to stay afloat but unfortunately have no option other than to put the Club into liquidation.'
